Heart Health in Older Marathon Runners

Similar to the Rowing study (above), this study will determine if the risk of AF relates to the quantity of exercise performed by those who have have performed high volume intensive exercise for many years, but with a focus on marathon running. Using a detailed questionnaire to assess past and current exercise history and health status, the dose-response relationship between the burden of lifelong exercise and incidence of AF will be examined in past and current marathon runners above the age of 55 years.
